YES. SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS.

I maybe have disproportionately strong feelings about not testing a pen, finding that it doesn't work, then putting it right back in the overstuffed pen jar with all the other pens that may or may not work.

Oh gods yes me too! It is an EVIL ACT to keep a pen which is known not to work!!

Also I got very pissed off that I could never ever find any pen in my house because my very nice 4-colour pens kept getting stolen by carers to write things. So I bought one of those packs of 100 biros for $10 at the supermarket and now I always have pens but they are all CRAPPY and people still steal my 4-colour biros :(.

I do keep some pens that don't work, because they are stupid sentimental souvenir pens. But they are very carefully segregated from all the other pens that work, and I am trying to learn to get rid of them.

That's up there with putting blown light bulbs back in the original pack and putting the pack back with the new bulbs. (Someone in our household does this.)

Haha never going to happen here.
Also the lightbulbs as someone mentioned and likewise dead batteries.

What?? You mean you're supposed to throw them out? I save them like I'm going to resurrect them someday.
